Hello All, I am about to become the step dad of two teenage boys in June. Would Like to know if anybody out there has been in a similar situation and how did you handle it. The boys have been spoiled by there mom and she admits it.

Hi Tom! In regards to your posting: First pray for wisdom, understanding and direction. Pray for strength to listen to the Holly Sprit that resides inside you. Then read 2 Thessalonians, Chapter 2, verse 1-4. Also, read Revelation 1:7. Listen to the Holly Spirit as you read and it will direct you; maybe to other scripture. Take Care!! Rod

I just thought I would place this here and see what sort of response I would get. I am looking into forming a ministry team to plant a church or something close to that nature in the future. These people need to be sold out to Jesus, and willing to uproot and go where God calls us. My name is Lisa and I was saved for the first time when I was about 14 years old and in the 8th grade believe me was powerful but I didn"t understand to much as I had no proper guidance. For many,many years I struggled,about 3 years ago the Lord introduced me to my new neighbors who invited me to their church and the fire started all over again a strong burning desire to learn
everything there is to know about the peace and the joy of you within HIM. In 1992 I met through my job and later fell in love with Jorge,I was divorced and he was going through one we have been inseperable ever since and we have two beautiful childern 2 years and almost 3 months. Jorge is not a believer, he is wonderful to our two childern, very good to 3 of my other childern and my oldest daughter and he don"t get on very well at all she is 14. I need my daughter and mt daughter needs me, I won"t leave him no way, God brought me to him to bring him to HIM I really believe this. behalf of my Dad. My Dad started chemotherapy for his cancer in Sept of last year. He has been unable to work since then and he is ill most of the time. For someone who has been very active for as long as I can remember he now seems like a shell of himself. It is hard for me to watch my Dad struggle like this. I am sending a prayer request for my son Matthew...He is 24 and when he was 17 he was called to preach.. His Grandfather and GreatGrandfather are both preachers. Along the way he got some great experience and was really doing well when he made some bad choices that allowed satan to deceive him. I am asking for prayer for our Lord Jesus to touch him and show Matthew that he is worthy and send a Christian friend to minister to Matthew Please pray that he can decipline himself to study as he is on acedemic probation and needs God more than anything. I know God is in the miracle business and Matthew needs a miracle! From his mother who deeply loves him and the Lord.

Together with her fiance, have realised furniture, decorations for the tree shops of the company. The Ihtus products are sold in Ihtus shops(unique, small batte series, collections). In Romania, wright now it's very difficult to make and growing bussines. In short, if I want to continue my activity I need to borrow a lot of money for reantals, wages, materials. We need to hold on the next six months, until a certain economic stability is to be accomplished, even if the benefits will be small or nill for a month. Whoever can resist for six months, is saved. That's what they say. I borrowed money from the bank, but the interest rate is more than 100%, they are scrupleless. For those who will wish to help us we can send pictures of the shops and of the products. May our god Lord bless you for all your good thoughts and deeds. We are praying regularly to hold on this business, to progress, to learn how to live according to His will. I ask the Lord to open a door or a window for us. I was wondering if I only ask, what can I give Him in return. I started to tell the shop assistants that our relationship is working only under His blessing. We have big problems here. I keep hearing of companies that go bankrupt, quite a lot recently. And as a "business woman" I keep telling My Lord Jesus, "You told me to give you my burden; take it, 'cause it's too heavy." I don't want to have a troubled mind or soul. I want His peace. I prayed for a few days and He exhorted me to write to my friends. Perspectives are rather gloomy at the moment. I would like to expand during this period and we know the Lord has never left or forsaken us. So, I need someone's financial aid to get out of the crisis, a good sum of money for six months. We'll send you the money back. By God's help and yours we hope for the best and some day we can give others in our turn. We hope our thoughts have not distressed you. 11-29-97: Like most Christians, I believed that Christ would return soon --however, I have recently become acquainted with a different interpretation of the same scriptures that I've read before which seems to indicate that the events refered to were to happen soon/then, not now. I investigated this expecting to find it heresy/a lie from Satan --but as yet have not. I accepted Christ 17 years ago and among my beliefs I expected the soon return of Christ. Recently though I became acquainted with another interpretation of eschatology known as Preterism. If you are familiar with this, have investigated it thoroughly, and have rejected it for good reasons, please share them with me. To Mike H.:I understand your dilema. I was raised in the Church Of God and all my up bringing convinced me that there was a place in God that could be found and confirmed . Remembering those shining faces and the definite expression of love in their eyes. Years and miles later I found myself looking for the same "experience" as I had envisioned that others had. In the beginning
everything seemed to be going well,wisdom,understanding and other evidences were apparent that Jesus had definately come to live in my heart. But there was no peace, the true peace that I thought I remembered seeing in my formative years. I had the same old battles and desires. It seemed that one understanding of the word only led to three more frustrations. For ten years I searched and worked. Street ministry, jail ministry , house to house I went in any direction that I thought that God was leading. There was a certain amount of personal fulfillment in these things but where was the peace where was the joy. I complained to God I complained to my wife I kicked our dog the kids went into hiding. Fasting only made me hungry and mean . Searching for God became very complex. But, there were some things that I encountered in the beginning of my "born again" experience that I still cannot shake. Definite traits that Jesus definately was on the scene. Definite miracles that even in my current hard hearted and stiffnecked state I cannot deny that there is some supreme being or power somewhere or everywhere. The Bible speaks of a time that there would be a falling away as it speaks of a lot of other sketchy things, I do not want to sound disrespectful of the Book or its Writer, and I wonder to my frustration if maybe some are predestined to backsliding into disbelief. Knowing what the word says about a certain subject and not being strong enough to change ones direction is no fun place to be. Everydaylife has to be negotiated and dealt with in a manner acceptable to society and it seems to be better, for me, to just not strive so hard for spiritual greatness but only to get by with sanity intact. Mike, I definately hear where you are coming from and can only say that there are millions just like us. In the jail ministry which involved the county jail all the way up to the fed pen and in street ministry down in the poorest areas to the individual homes, people, the vast majority of those encountered had a belief in God and a definite relationship at one time or another but something had happened to alter their view. For some it was goats among the sheep or plain old wolves among the sheep. Whatever the reason frustration and unbelief took over. It seemes that as many people as there are there are reasons to disbelieve. I have no answers to anyones spiritual dilema. As far as life and its meaning goes I do not believe that anyone can honestly say, even with all the scientific understanding, that all that we call life started with a big bang or in a pool of slime. If you are confused and looking for truth, the truth is that God is real, and you must really believe that or you wouldn't keep looking for Him. If you can't see the evidence of God's existence in your own life, it is because you are keeping Him out. He won't force Himself on you. He won't "zonk" you because others pray for you. He has a gift that you are invited to receive, and before you are able to receive it, you must acknowledge the sin in your life and desire to turn away from it. You must confess something like: God, you are right and I am wrong. I am a sinner, I admit it, I need a new heart within me. This has to be a genuine desire as God knows the truth within your heart. And please, don't think that having God involved in your life means
that all your troubles will cease. He will give you the inner strength to endure the trials you will go through, he won't always stop them. We go through trials to bring us to a more mature relationship with Him. It's not a bed of roses, but it's not a bed of nails either. We can have joy in the midst of kaos, because He lives within us. Praising Him with singing is a real key to joy.
